Tuesday

Spring 1983

You'd think after 31 years of being married to me.. Paul would KNOW that when one spends the weekend ...two days with our grandchildren, he'd use the camera he always carries in his truck and take pictures for Gran! Well, not if you're Paul Flocken. Not a lot of photos taken at Saturday's birthday party for Rob and Paul  didn't take any.. In his words.." Same kids, I already have pictures of".
So I have no new photos to post today of all the weekend's events. Ricky moving into his new place, Rob's birthday party, The kids all together at Firefighters Park in Murrieta.. NOTHING. What's wrong with my family (except you Carla).
Paul's on his way home now with Sabby and is not at all concerned about the lack of photos he brings his wife.... hmph.
Otherwise, it's a beautiful day, and I'm looking forward to seeing Pappys again.
Thanks for taking the time to read my blog today.

June 1st already

I had a bad night Saturday night, with Muscle Spasms. A little like someone ripping  the back of my legs apart.. and a massive headache. So, a ride to Southern CA was not in the cards yesterday either. :(  I'm home. Katie's at work today and doing better. Paul took Sabby with him yesterday when he moved Ricky home to CA. Ricky called last night to let me know he was there and settled in. He starts his job today - he transferred from the restaurant here to the one in CA.. I'm going to miss him but he's not too far away. I'm home alone today, feeling better but laying low.

Paul loves AZ and will never move back to CA. Katie and Sabby leave in 2 weeks. I'm excited now for Katie, "that guy" seems like an awfully nice guy and meeting his family made me really comfortable. So I'm excited for Katie and Sabby as they begin their new life... I may be crazy - but I admire Katie for her hope.

It's going to be a new life for Paul and Me too. We'll be on our own again.

I'm pretty sure that's o.k. I'm pretty sure I'll enjoy our new life. I'm really sure it's up to me to be happy in our new life.

I want to be healthier and start looking forward to my 60's and 70's and why not.. my 80's!
Going back to my last post on living life joyfully. Kathie and I didn't get to that answer on Saturday, we did find some joy while ordering lunch at Paradise Bakery.. I'll take it.. But won't re-order the Tomato soup in a sour dough bowl.

On my own, I came up with some answers and more questions. I know it's up to me, to do what it takes to be joyful. It's not too late, all the way up in my 50's, to make the changes I should and look to my future. I still have one. I think having the health problems I've had, I had determined I would not live much longer and was o.k. with that but I think I was wrong. I think I can live a long time. I'm basically a very happy person, but I want to investigate this thing about living life joyfully more, and do what I've told my kids to do all their lives. Celebrate and honer this life God Gave you!  I plan on reporting more in this blog, about looking toward my future and living joyfully as I learn more..
Have any of you learned the secrets of Living Life Joyfully? Everyday? I can use the input.
Thanks for taking the time to read my blog today.

To Live Life Joyfully

I'm suppose to be in CA today, going to Rob's birthday party. He, his brother in law and sister in law all have birthdays in May. So today is the "May Party". I missed it 2 years ago since I was in the hospital with Diverticulitis. Thursday Katie got really sick and Thursday night we spent most of the night in the hospital while they checked her for pulmonary embolisms. Happily, she was o.k. and they've since cleared her for Pnemonia. She's not well enough to drive down there right now and since Paul is going tomorrow to help Ricky move, well, I'm going him him tomorrow night for a couple of days.
Kathie is coming over today, we plan on sitting in the pool under the umbrella and I guess we'll discuss and decide how one lives joyfully.
Thanks for taking the time to read my blog today.

SItting on Hold with DMV or do they call it Adot?

Anyway, I'm on hold with Motor Vehicles trying to figure out where my $326.00 went? I paid, but late and forgot the fee... So My money sits in limbo and my car is not registered. ...
The songs are o.k. but sung by different people.. Like the DOORS and ONLY THE DOORS should sing Fire...or whatever the name of that song is.

I've posted a picture taken at the BBQ with Adams family a couple of weeks ago. A Wonderful woman took and sent two of these pictures. Kathie looked better in the other picture, I look better (less chins) in this one.. Sorry Kathie. But I did not photoshop in the droopy neck I have or made you look 20 pound heavier.. :)
If I knew how, I would.. Make you heavier.

We're twins, Kathie and I. Identical.. a good thing to know your entire life, is that there is a set of organs available if you need them.. Well not including the heart. We've been together so to speak since before we were born. Once we were one. Not Psychic, but I do feel her pain when she feels it. The darkness creeps in and almost seems to overwhelm me during those times in our life when Kathie is pain emotionally. I've always been amazed at how she changes in accordance with the changes in her life. Rises up to face it; usually wants to explore it and the reasons for it; makes changes in her thought processes and life to accept the situation causing her pain. Pain doesn't stay with Kathie long, Thank God, or I'd go crazy.. I look up to my twin sister and marvel at all she has conquered in her life. All the things she can make o.k. for people, one person at a time. I'm glad I know Kathie, I'm glad I grew up with her, watched raise her family and now, watch her with her grand kids.
It's good to be your sister Kathie

O.K. still on hold.......

Making memories

I started this post some two hours ago, meaning to talk  about the pictures I picked out with Sabby today. We're going to put new pictures in her frames to take up to Tahoe. When I sat down to write the post, and typed out Making Memories, I thought.. Damn, they're out in the pool and I"m in here.. So, I went out and made some memories with Sabby and Katie. Too busy to take pictures, so I'll post the pictures Sabby and I picked out.

Thanks for taking the time to read my blog today.

Memorial Day

I don't like talking politics on my blog. But I will today.
I was always a republican.. Except for that time in the 70's when I voted for Jerry Brown for President.. I was raised a republican pretty much. My mom was a democrat and voted for John Kennedy while my dad voted for Nixon. I liked Kennedy because he was young, handsome and had a kid about my age. Mom converted and ours became a republican household.
When I met my husband, he was a democrat (labor democrat), but after we were married (by chance) he never voted democrat again. He's since re-registered as a republican.
I've evolved over the years of my life. Mostly I was a moderate Republican. I'm VERY pro life as I believe life is from God and Only God can give and take life. I'm also against the Death Penalty for the same reason. Societies are judged by the way we treat our most vulnerable members. I'm thinking our Society cannot come out very well under that scrutiny.
I became a believer in the Unions, because I saw first hand the way companies take advantage of their employees.
I was a supporter of George Bush, twice. I'm not sure anymore how I feel about that now. I liked him and he became my hero after 9/11 and the way he led this country after the nightmare of of that day. He was no coward, throwing out the first pitch at Yankee stadium a few short weeks later. However, I'm not sure how I feel about him anymore.
I voted for Obama in the last election. And I think McCain was a true American leader when he made his concession speech.
I watch 24/7 news channels a lot. I've started watching with a new eye. FOX is NOT fair and balanced, on the other side MSNBC is too far to the left (in my humble opinion).
CNN--- Why did I believe all that about them being too far to the left? Of the three, they seem the most unbiased. Just saying. Their tribute to "our fallen" today is something else and got me thinking....
I re-registered this year as a Democrat. So I guess now, I'm a moderate Democrat. A little fearful these days but very hopeful.
I'm writing this post today, and spilling my political guts in tribute to all the young men and woman, who've died protecting my Freedom of Speech, since the beginning of our country's story.  Such promise they had, and the families who mourned them; what sacrifices they made. It's the least I can do for them.. To exercise the rights they died to preserve.
